YURIKA is an artist that expresses emotions and experiences mainly through writing, painting, and photography. She currently also works as a freelance graphic designer mainly for companies merchandising in the EC market. She has a strong passion for dogs and is active in the Pet Welfare movement in Japan. Her hobbies are singing and eating. Her ultimate dream in life is to have a family full of freedom and happiness.BIOGRAPHY
1990-Feb. Born in Tokyo, Japan.1996-Jul. Moves to El Paso, Texas, USA due to her father's job.
2007-Aug. Returns to Tokyo, Japan.
2009-Jan. Enters Temple University, Japan Campus.
2012-Apr. First solo exhibition, "ゆめものがたり."
2013-Jun. Graduates with a BA Degree in Liberal Arts, majoring in Art, focusing mainly on Oil Painting and Photography.
2013-Oct. Enters Rakuten Inc., Rakuten Ichiba Business as an E-Commerce Consultant supporting mainly companies merchandising in fashion.
2016-Jan. Second solo exhibition, "Still Dreaming."
2016-Dec. Launches women's creator group, créateur-WOMAN.
2017-Feb. Officially opens ennui strawberry by YURIKA - Art & Design Studio.

ARTIST STATEMENT / METHODS
YURIKA's main artistic outlet is writing. She enjoys many different methods of writing; poetry, essays, short stories, blogging, and Twitter. Writing is the only method that YURIKA has pursued consistently throughout her entire life. She aspires to write and keep writing to share her thoughts and ideas to the world, using honest and straight forward words as much as possible.Her second main outlet is Oil Painting. As she studied Oil Painting as her major during her college studies, she finds pleasure in two main themes; 1. abstract paintings with flower motifs and 2. portrait painting. Her abstract paintings express difficult emotions of herself or are a representation of a person or event she is deeply inspired from. Painting many layers of thick paint with beautiful colors, she attempts to capture emotions that she is unable to express with writing. She is continuing her studies in portrait painting mainly creating portraitures of herself.
Photography is a medium she takes pleasure in doing both professional digital photography using digital single-reflex camera and casual photography using her iPhone. In digital photography, she captures herself with concepts that come to her mind from her past and present dreams and desires in life. Casually, she enjoys updating daily captures of pieces of her life through Instagram.
